FREQ Acoustic Labs

For the listening.

FREQ is a boutique hi-fi house for people who treat sound as something to study, not just consume. We make over-ear headphones, wireless earbuds, portable DACs and desktop speakers — and we render them like the instruments they are.

Most audio brands sell you a feeling. We would rather sell you the truth and let you feel it yourself.

That means transducers chosen for what they reveal, not what they flatter. It means a flat reference where flatness is the point, and a deliberate, disclosed lift where energy is. It means telling you the impedance, the THD, the weight in grams — and trusting you to know what to do with them.

FREQ is, in truth, a portfolio concept — a brand world built to demonstrate dark-mode product UX, procedural rendering and a convincingly simulated commerce backend. Nothing here is for sale. But everything here is built as if it were: the engineering story is real, the data is real, and the craft is the whole point.

The five-band model

We measure in five bands.

Every FREQ voicing is built from the bottom up — five tilts in dB that synthesise into the response curves you see on every product page.

  1. Band 01 · Sub

    It starts below hearing

Every voicing begins at 20 Hz — the sub band that decides whether a kick lands in your chest or just your ears. We set it first, and we set it on purpose.

  2. Band 02 · Bass

    Weight without spill

The 60–250 Hz band is where warmth becomes mud. A measured lift for energy, a flat hold for reference — disclosed either way, never hidden.

  3. Band 03 · Mid

    The voice, untouched

Vocals and instruments live in the midrange. We treat it as the centre of gravity — the one band a good instrument refuses to colour.

  4. Band 04 · Treble

    Detail, not glare

2–8 kHz buys you articulation up to the point it buys you fatigue. We voice for the edit you can hear, not the sparkle that wears you down.

  5. Band 05 · Air

    Where the room lives

Above 8 kHz is the reverb tail, the height, the sense of a real space. The last band we tune — and the one that turns a recording back into a room.

What we hold to

Four principles, no compromises.

01

The signal is sacred

We voice every instrument against the master, not a marketing curve. If the engineer put it there, you should hear it. If they didn't, you shouldn't.

02

Specs are the art

Driver size, impedance, THD — the numbers that other brands bury in fine print, we set large and proud. The spec sheet is the design.

03

Built to be kept

Three-year warranties, parts stocked for a decade past retirement, lifetime driver-rematching on the limited runs. Audio you keep is the only kind worth making.

04

Dark by intent

An OLED-true void, neon rim-light, motion that breathes to an implied beat. The interface should feel like the room is listening back.
