Terms of service
Last updated June 2026
Welcome to FREQ Acoustic Labs. Before the legal cadence kicks in, one honest note: FREQ is a portfolio concept piece — a demonstration of dark-mode product UX, not a live storefront — so nothing here is a real commercial offer, no money changes hands, and no gear ships. With that said, these Terms are written as a real brand would write them: plainly, precisely, and with the same exacting voice we bring to a frequency-response curve. Read on for how to use this site, who owns what, and the limits of what we promise.
A portfolio demo, not a store
FREQ is a design and engineering showpiece. Every product, price, spec sheet and "Add to cart" button is a faithful simulation — convincing on purpose, but not a real transaction. No payment is ever captured. No order is ever fulfilled. Nothing physically ships.
Any checkout you complete runs entirely in your browser against a mock API. Order numbers, dispatch timelines and the email preview on the confirmation screen are generated locally to show the flow end to end — they are theatre, performed well. By using the site you acknowledge there is no underlying contract of sale and no obligation on either side to deliver, pay, or refund anything.
Where these Terms describe shipping, warranty, returns or audition policies, treat them as the policy the brand would honour if FREQ were real. They are part of the demonstration, not a binding promise to you.
Acceptable use
Use the site as intended: browse the catalog, explore the interactions, run the simulated cart and checkout. That's the whole invitation. In return, a short and reasonable set of ground rules.
We may suspend or block access if the site is misused in a way that degrades it for others. Since there are no accounts and no real data, the bar is simple: don't break it, don't weaponise it, don't strip our name off it.
- Don't attempt to overload, probe, or disrupt the site or its mock API.
- Don't submit real personal or payment details — the checkout neither needs nor wants them, and never transmits them.
- Don't scrape, reframe, or rehost the experience as if it were your own work.
- Don't reverse-engineer the build to pass it off, in whole or in part, as a commercial product.
Intellectual property
The FREQ name, the "Hear the whole signal" tagline, the visual system, the copy, the code, and the signature interactions are the work behind this portfolio piece and remain the property of their author. You're welcome to view the experience and admire the craft; you're not licensed to copy it wholesale or present it as yours.
Every product image is procedurally generated — there are no photographs of real hardware here, because there is no real hardware. Renders, rotation frames, waveforms and frequency-response curves are synthetic artefacts created for this demonstration. They depict nothing that exists and infringe no real product or brand.
Third-party tools, fonts and libraries used to build the site remain the property of their respective owners under their own licences.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Because no goods or services are actually sold, no statement here — about audio performance, build quality, shipping speed, or warranty cover — should be relied upon as a representation about a real product you can buy.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FREQ Acoustic Labs and the author of this piece accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site. There are no transactions to dispute, no deliveries to chase, and no refunds to issue, because none of those things occur.
Specs, prices and policies shown are illustrative and may change without notice as the demo evolves.
Changes to these terms
This is a living showpiece, so these Terms may be revised as the work develops. When they change, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes with them. Continued use after an update means you're comfortable with the current version.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the author's home jurisdiction, applied with common sense and good faith. If any part proves unenforceable, the rest stands. Questions about FREQ as a portfolio piece are always welcome — this document just sets the tone for a brand that takes its details seriously.
FREQ is a portfolio concept piece. No products are for sale and no policy here is a binding commercial agreement.
